The Eye bank at Shri Ganapati Netralaya has a dedicated
team of medical and paramedical staff for the collection,
storage and transplantation of donor eyes. A 24-hour
facility is available for the collection of eyes.
In the eye bank, the eye is examined and assessed
and the corneal tissue is stored in the required media.

of which 60% are due to cataract, which is a surgically
curable disease. Because of poverty, illiteracy and
ignorance, rural population is more affected as compared
to the urban.
